I have worked on plot 194 on the Upper Roedale site for the last ten years and found it a hugely therapeutic experience. Our plot is up on the side of the valley and has a wonderful view of the site and the town and sea beyond. There is nothing quite like getting your hands in the earth for making you feel grounded and alive. The site is a big inspiration, and I have been working on a series of paintings over the last few years which attempt to express this love of the place.
They will be in an exhibition at 35 North Gallery in North Road Brighton for three weeks starting on 6th April. The gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday and I’m hoping to be there on the Wednesdays if any fellow allotmenteers want to drop in for a chat!
