Henfield Close Garden

Henfield Close Garden

Henfield close garden is a currently disused space in South Whitehawk which has been leased to the local community to start a food-growing project.  The site contains 200 square metres of available growing area.

The site is bordered by a wall and surrounded by housing, has a locked gate and bench to sit on.

The opportunity to get involved in a community food-project was offered to residents that surround the site, however at this time no-one has the time or capacity to work on the project.

Therefore this exciting opportunity is now available to other residents.

The site is near the bus station in Whitehawk and therefore is easily accessible to people who live in the area.

The site could be run as a community growing project and coordinated by a community group or it could be sub-divided into individual allotments.

Therefore we are looking for people who might want to take on the following roles:

Site Coordinators

Do you have some time to spare and are interested in helping to coordinate this community-growing site?  We are looking for people with a range of skills or just enthusiasm to get this project off the ground.  Without someone or some people to help coordinate this project it simply won’t happen.

Growers

Would you like to find a bit of land to get growing on?  Are you interested in either volunteering to grow food on the community plot or having your own sub-plot of the site?

If you are interested in either of these roles please contact:
