Health Benefits

Due to its powerful combination of properties, acting as an antibiotic, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antifungal substance, propolis is now acclaimed for its beneficial, health-giving attributes.

Propolis is a mainly resinous substance which bee's collect from trees and plants.  They take this back to the hive where other products in particular wax are added and the whole substance transformed into what we know as propolis.  The bees fill all gaps, or cracks in the hive with propolis.  Also all spaces between wax cells.  The colour of Propolis is as varied as Pollen and depends on what time of years and what tree or plants the resins are collected from.  The word propolis is reputed to have been coined by Aristotle, takes its name from Greek.

Propolis has been used by man as a medicine since Egyptian times.
