  • Good Gardeners Association (details of a no-dig project and looking beyond organic !)
  • National Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardeners (NSALG) - Representing allotments and allotment gardens nationwide, the NSALG provides membership to allotment societies and allotment gardeners.
  • Allotment Regeneration Initiative (ARI) - which aims to support and develop allotments regeneration and the creation of brand new allotment sites in the UK, gather and disseminate information about good practice in allotments management, maintain and develop profile of allotments with public and government, and encourage sustained devolved management by allotment associations as the primary volunteer and community-based actor in allotment regeneration. 
  • The Royal Horticultural Society website is an excellent resource for gardeners.  They have an excellent advice section where you can search by month for things to do that month, by topic, or by plant name.  Try it out here.  They also have a handy veg planner detailing sowing and harvesting times for all the main allotment veg.  Download the Veg planner below here RHS_VegPlanner.pdf (65k)
  • The Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens can give advice on establishing food-growing initiatives and amenity gardens in urban areas.
  • The Soil Association  - promoting planet friendly food and farming - can give advice on organic growing of food (and other things), and runs a certification scheme for organic produce.
  • The Henry Doubleday Research Association the national charity for organic growing - gives advice on organic growing, and runs demonstration gardens and training
